Dr See Yong Pey is a Senior Consultant with the Department of Renal Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). Dr See obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2005 from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Singapore and embarked on his Internal Medicine training from 2009. Having obtained his Membership of Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK), Master of Internal Medicine (Int Med Singapore) in 2010. Dr See began his Renal Medicine Specialty training from 2011 and successfully received his Renal Medicine Specialty accreditation in November 2014 and has been practicing Renal Medicine since then. Dr See’s special interest is in Peritoneal Dialysis and received his Health Manpower Development Programme Award to pursue a 6-month clinical fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane under the guidance of Professor David Johnson and Yeoungjee.
Dr See runs a general nephrology clinic at TTSH, offering care for patients with chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, and haemodialysis. He also does inpatient services that cares for both patient under kidney medicine and general medicine. He also oversees the peritoneal dialysis service in the hospital.
Outside of clinical work, Dr See has published in peer-reviewed journals and continues to be a peer reviewer for various nephrology journals. As a Fellow of the Royal of Physicians of Edinburgh, he is an active teaching faculty for both medical undergraduates and postgraduates pursuing medical specialisation and he was awarded the NHG Health Junior Teaching Award in 2014 and TTSH Top 10 Teaching award in 2015.
Patient empowerment and engagement ranks highly as a core belief for Dr See. Therefore, he frequently champions efforts in engaging patients towards better self-care.
