Biodata

Adj A/Prof Pua Uei specializes in minimally invasive, image guided treatment of diseases. Following induction as a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (United Kingdom) in 2006 and Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2008. He went on to complete his fellowship in interventional radiology in the University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital in University of Toronto, Canada, followed by a visiting fellowship in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York. He is the President of the Singapore Radiological Society since 2012 and also serve on several committees internationally, such as the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS).

His interests in minimally invasive image guided procedures includes musculoskeletal intervention, interventional oncology and vascular intervention. He pioneered the technique of central stentoplasty in the treatment of osteoporotic fractures in 2012 and was featured in the mainstream media for introducing many other techniques such as percutaneous cryoablation for renal cell carcinoma and percutaneous endovascular stent graft implantation for aortic aneurysm. He is also active in research and has written more than 70 peer reviewed publications.
