Biodata

Dr Ong Poo Lee is a Consultant in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. He is an accredited Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist with a clinical focus on trauma, musculoskeletal, and amputee rehabilitation. His work spans acute to community settings, where he leads multidisciplinary efforts to optimise functional recovery and quality of life for patients.

Dr Ong’s practice integrates advanced rehabilitation technologies, including wearable sensors, assistive devices, and robotics to enhance assessment, therapy delivery and outcomes. His special interests lie in digital health, artificial intelligence, and healthcare innovation particularly in developing patient-centred rehabilitation solutions through collaboration with engineering and technology partners.

He obtained his MRCP (UK) in 2016 and completed the National Healthcare Group Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) Fellowship in 2022. Dr Ong was awarded the NMRC Clinician Innovator Award in 2024 and the Lee Kong Chian Academy of Clinician Innovators (ACSI) Young Innovator Award in 2025. In 2025, he was also conferred the HMDP Trauma Rehabilitation Fellowship Award, where he aims to translate the best practices and develop enhanced trauma rehabilitation programme in Singapore.

Dr Ong believes in a patient-centred approach that combines clinical expertise, empathy, and innovation to empower individuals towards meaningful recovery and independence.
