Adj Asst Prof Noorhazlina Bte Ali is the Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine and a Senior Consultant, where she leads a dedicated team in providing comprehensive and compassionate care for older adults. Her work focuses on enhancing the well-being of seniors through person-centred approaches that emphasize dignity, empathy, and meaningful human connection.
Her clinical interests include cognition and memory disorders, advance care planning, and Namaste Care for persons with advanced dementia. In 2014, she received the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Award to pursue advanced training in dementia care in Florida, USA. Inspired by this experience, she brought the Namaste Care program to Singapore in 2015, pioneering its local adaptation to better meet the cultural and care needs of Singapore’s elderly population.
She strongly believes in the power of presence, touch, and connection in caring for individuals with dementia. Through her leadership, she continues to advocate for holistic, person-centred models of care that honour the individuality and humanity of every patient.
