Biodata

Adjunct Associate Professor Matthias Toh graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1997 and later obtained MMed (Public Health) in 2004. Dr Toh practised community and family medicine at Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic. He has special interest in disease prevention and control, health promotion and primary care.

He served as a Consultant Public Health Physician with the National Healthcare Group (NHG) in Singapore and was the clinical champion who led the design and building of the first operational Chronic Disease Registry (CDMS) in the NHG and Singapore.

He joined NCID in 2019 and served as the Director of National Public Health & Epidemiology Unit (NPHEU) from July 2020 to September 2024. At NPHEU, he led the national registry for HIV and led the epidemiology team to provide insights on the global and local situation for communicable diseases. From April 2025, he is appointed as Head of NCID Epidemiology and Data Unit and Senior Consultant in the department of Infectious Diseases at NCID and TTSH.

He is appointed as an Adjunct Associate Professor with the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (NUHS) and Clinical Core Faculty Member for National Preventive Medicine Residency Programme.
