Dr Manohar Bairy is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Renal Medicine in Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and Associate Professor in the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He provides specialist inpatient and outpatient care for patients with acute disorders of the kidney, chronic kidney disease, patients on dialysis and patients with a kidney transplant. He also looks after patients on haemodialysis in the NKF Singapore.
Dr Bairy started his training in India, obtained his MRCP(UK) and specialist training in Renal Medicine in the UK and after working as a full-time consultant nephrologist in the NHS(UK), moved to Singapore in 2014. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS). He has engaged in kidney disease research and has several publications to his name in peer reviewed journals. He was a member of the Agency for Care Effectiveness (ACE) Chronic Kidney Disease clinical guidelines committee.
He is the National Renal Lead for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and core faculty member and specialty education coordinator for the Internal Medicine Residency Programme in NHG Health. Additionally, Dr Bairy is the programme director for the Academy of Medicine Advanced Specialist Training (AST) programme in Renal Medicine. He has won teaching awards in TTSH and the NHG Health Teaching Excellence Award. Dr Bairy has, throughout his career, worked to enhance quality of patient care especially for patients on dialysis in the community.
