Biodata

Professor Lim Tock Han is a Senior Consultant at NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Group Chairman Medical Board, NHG. He was past director of NHG Eye Institute, NHG Health.

He was fellowship trained in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Mn, USA. Among his clinical and research interests are Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy (PCV). He has pioneered the use of Confocal Scanning Laser Indocyanine Angiography (CSLO-ICGA) in the region for the diagnosis and treatment of PCV, culminating in the setting up of the region’s first reading center for PCV imaging (Fundus Imaging Reading Centre, FIRC) and the EVEREST Trial (by Novartis), the first prospective randomized controlled trial of PCV worldwide.

He was the founding Designated Institutional Official for the NHG-AHPL Residency Programme, one of first institutions worldwide accredited by Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International (ACGME-I).

He is also Professor (Clinical Practice) Lee Kong Chian Medicine, Nanyang Technology University. He was also the founding President of the College of Ophthalmologists Academy of Medicine (Singapore).
