Biodata
Dr Lim Jun Pei is a Senior Consultant in Geriatric Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Translation and Practice Lead at the Institute of Geriatrics and Active Ageing. She specialises in cognitive and memory disorders, managing patients across the spectrum from mild cognitive impairment to dementia in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
As clinical lead of the Geriatric Monitoring Units, Dr Lim oversees care for patients with dementia and delirium and leads quality improvement efforts in delirium detection and diagnosis across hospital and community settings. She was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Fellowship Team Award and completed an observership in Greater Manchester, UK, in 2025, studying community delirium care pathways. This experience provided insights into integrated care models and community-based interventions for cognitive health.
Dr Lim holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from The Dartmouth Institute, USA (2022), where she was inducted into the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. This training equipped her with skills in implementation science and health policy, enabling her to translate research evidence into practical healthcare solutions at a systems level.
Dr Lim's research focuses on sarcopenia and frailty, with published work on handgrip strength measures of sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity. During COVID-19, she collaborated with infectious disease experts to examine frailty's impact on patient outcomes, informing ethical frameworks for intensive care decisions. Dr Lim's expertise in evidence synthesis has been demonstrated through her key contributions to developing Singapore's Clinical Practice Guidelines for Sarcopenia and her involvement in a rapid review of brief diagnostic tools for dementia screening among community-dwelling older adults in Singapore. In both projects, she contributed to evidence synthesis, created recommendations, and coordinated expert consensus using modified Delphi methodology. This work has directly informed clinical practice and national policy.
Dr Lim's work spans clinical care, research, education, and policy development, with a focus on developing healthcare systems that can effectively serve Singapore's ageing population. She aims to advance evidence-based approaches to frailty and cognitive health whilst building capacity for implementation at both institutional and national levels.
