Biodata
Dr Ray Lai graduated with an MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 2012 and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2015. He was accredited as a specialist in Endocrinology in 2020.
His clinical practice covers the breadth of general endocrinology, with a subspecialty interest in diabetes mellitus. He is committed to patient-centred care and to advancing innovative models of chronic disease management that respond to evolving healthcare needs.
In medical education, Dr Lai holds teaching appointments at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He serves as Assistant Clinical Module Lead for the preclinical Endocrine Systems module at LKCMedicine. As Programme Director for the NHG Health Endocrinology Senior Residency Programme, he oversees the training and professional development of future endocrinologists.
At Tan Tock Seng Hospital, he is Co-Clinical Lead for the Clinical Diabetes Educator Programme and a member of the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee. At the cluster level, he contributes as Co-Lead of the NHG Health Diabetes Mellitus Healthcare Provider Education Workgroup, collaborating with colleagues across institutions to strengthen workforce capabilities in diabetes care.
Outside of work, Dr Lai values time with his family and enjoys playing the piano.
