Dr Jaspal Singh Dhaliwal is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist with the Department of Psychiatry at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he currently serves as the Head of Department. His clinical interests are in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and he leads the HIV Psychiatry service. Within the hospital, he also serves as the Chairman, Well-Being Committee, looking into staff well-being matters. He is the Program Lead for One NHG ASCAT, which looks to develop mental health capabilities and access within the community, and the Co-Chair of the NHG Mental Health Integration Steering Committee, which helps oversee mental health efforts within the cluster.
He obtained his M.B.,B.S. from the National University of Singapore in 2001, and completed post-graduate studies with a Masters of Medicine (Psychiatry) in 2007. He is Adjunct Assistant Professor at NUS-YLL School of Medicine and LKC-NTU School of Medicine and was a recipient of the TTSH Top 20 Educators Award. He also serves as member of the Psychiatry Residents Advisory Committee and is an examiner for local undergraduate and Royal College of Psychiatrists’ post-graduate examinations. His other appointments include Visiting Consultant to the Singapore Armed Forces Medical Corps and Member of the Visitors’ Board to the Institute of Mental Health.
