Adj A/Prof Allyn Hum is dually accredited in Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine. Alongside her role as a clinician in the Departments of Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Medicine in Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore, she serves as the Director of the Palliative Care Centre for Excellence in Research and Education (www.palc.org.sg).
A/Prof Hum is passionate in driving research that translate to betterment of clincial care and is the primary investigator for several multi-million research grants. Her research feeds into the educational endeavors undertaken at PalC and include the use of prognostic models to integrate early palliative care in cancer and non-cancer conditions. Adj A/Prof Allyn is currently working to develop seamless models of care for advanced illnesses (including dementia) in Singapore with the use of predictive AI in electronic health records.
She is currently also the academic director of the Holistic PalliativE (HoPE) degree, the first Masters of Science in Palliative Medicine developed in conjunction with LKCMedicine, NTU for the Asia-Pacific region. For her invaluable contributions towards the advancement of palliative medicine education and research, she received the NHG Research Mentor Award in 2023, as well as the Healthcare Huaminities Award in 2025.
