Biodata
Dr Ho graduated from the National University of Singapore and underwent postgraduate training in histopathology, gaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists, United Kingdom (UK). Subsequently, he obtained the Health Manpower Development Plan fellowship to pursue subspecialty training in breast pathology at the Nottingham Breast Institute (UK) under the tutelage of Professor Ian Ellis. Dr Ho is also a Member of the International Academy of Cytology and Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
Apart from diagnostic pathology work, Dr Ho also actively participates in laboratory safety and quality matters, chairing the department’s Quality Technical Committee. For many years, he has been involved in the audit of BreastScreen Singapore reading and assessment centres across the country and also serves on the Operations Committee, BreastScreen Singapore, Health Promotion Board.
Dr Ho’s research interests are mainly in the area of breast cancer and pre-cancerous lesions of the breast. He has been actively collaborating with colleagues in all aspects of breast cancer research, and has published widely in peer-reviewed international pathology and breast journals.
Besides research, Dr Ho mentors aspiring residents in the field of surgical pathology and cytopathology as faculty of the NHG Health Anatomic Pathology training programme and a member of its Program Evaluation Committee. He is also involved in the teaching of pathology to undergraduates at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. Over the years, he has taught pathology and surgical residents at various breast courses and presents regularly at the BreastScreen Singapore seminars.
