Dr Gu Hanzi graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. She obtained her postgraduate qualification from the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) and her Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from the National University of Singapore. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and subsequently pursued speciality training in Medical Oncology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Dr Gu's clinical and research interests focus on breast and gastrointestinal cancers. She currently serves as a faculty member of the Medical Oncology Senior Residency Programme. Dr Gu has also been actively involved in undergraduate teaching since 2018. In 2025, she was appointed as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
