Biodata

Dr Goh Wen Yang is a Consultant in the Palliative Medicine Department at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he has served since 2021. He holds dual specialist accreditation in both Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Medicine, bringing a unique perspective to the care of older adults with serious illness. Dr Goh serves as the clinical lead for the Geriatric Oncology Supportive Clinic and plays a key administrative role in developing the hospital's acute palliative care unit.

His clinical practice focuses on integrating geriatric and palliative care approaches, particularly for older adults with cancer planned for curative intent chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy as well as advanced non-cancer conditions including dementia and frailty. Dr Goh provides comprehensive supportive care through the Geriatric Oncology Supportive Clinic and contributes to multidisciplinary care through participation in tumour board. He also serves as a palliative visiting consultant for Home Nursing Foundation Integrated Home Health Programme, extending specialist expertise beyond hospital walls.

Dr Goh completed specialist training in Geriatric Medicine in 2018 and Palliative Medicine in 2021. His teaching contributions include serving as Clinical Senior Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Clinical Teacher at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, National Technological University. He has received multiple research grants as principal investigator totalling over SGD 400,000 and has published extensively in international journals on geriatric oncology and palliative care topics. Notable recognition includes the 2024 Singapore Health and Biomedical Congress Gold Award for Best Clinical Research Poster.

Dr Goh believes in providing compassionate, evidence-based care that honours the dignity and preferences of patients and their families whilst optimising quality of life throughout the illness journey.
