Biodata
Dr Clive Tan is a Public Health specialist and Senior Consultant at the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine. He is concurrently also the Director for Medical Services for the Home Team at Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs.
Dr Clive Tan holds a MBBS from Singapore and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played an important role in the COVID-19 response and support to manage the outbreak in the foreign worker dormitories in 2020. For that, he was awarded the COVID-19 Recognition Award by MINDEF in 2020, and the Public Administrative Medical (Bronze) by the Prime Minister’s Office in 2022.
His area of work involves health service and programme planning using a strong population health approach, with a focus on precision public health, digital health, integrated care, value-based care, behavioral change and care for the vulnerable and marginalized.
Dr Clive Tan also teaches at the National University of Singapore’s School of Public Health, NTU’s LKC School of Medicine and the Duke-NUS Centre of Regulatory Excellence, and consults for WHO in the areas of Digital Health, Population Health and Universal Health Coverage.
