Biodata

Dr Janice Chuang is an Associate Consultant in the Department of Dental Surgery. She is trained in Special Care Dentistry, providing dental care for persons unable to accept routine dental care because of physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, or medical impairment or disability. Her training includes geriatric dental care.

She applies a comprehensive skill set of clinical dentistry, including restorative, oral surgery and oral medicine competency, to complex patients and situations to treat oral disease. Dr Chuang takes a holistic view of the person with a focus on quality of life, improving oral health by managing pain and infection, and tailoring an individualised oral care plan to prevent progression or development of further oral disease.

Dr Chuang received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from National University of Singapore, during which she was a recipient of the Dean’s List and the SDA medal. She was subsequently awarded a TTSH training scholarship to pursue a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Special Needs Dentistry at the University of Queensland, Australia. During her time at the University of Queensland, she received the Mary McSweeney Commemorative Fellowship Award, Colgate IADR award, and a number of Best Student Presentation awards.

She strongly believes in lowering barriers to dental care and supporting a person’s dignity and quality of life, no matter the stage of life.
