Dr Chia is a Consultant Microbiologist in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, with current areas of focus in Infection Control, Diagnostic and Antimicrobial Stewardship, and workplace and laboratory safety and quality. He graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS) in 2009 and completed his training in Medical Microbiology in Singapore in 2020, having been admitted to the Royal College of Pathologists (UK) as a Fellow in 2018.

As a microbiologist, he aims to ensure that patient testing conducted by DLM is accurate, reliable, timely, and up to date with current scientific evidence, while not compromising on the safety of patients and staff alike.
