Biodata

Dr Justin Chew is a Senior Consultant Geriatrician at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He graduated with his MBBS (Singapore) in 2007 and obtained his MRCP (UK) and M.Med (Internal Medicine) in 2012. He specialises in cognition and memory disorders, including dementia care, and the care of frail older adults. He provides comprehensive geriatric care for older adults through multidisciplinary assessment and holistic treatment planning, helping patients maintain their independence and quality of life.

As Deputy Director of the Institute of Geriatrics and Active Ageing (IGA), Dr Chew focuses on improving care models for frail older adults and promoting healthy ageing. His research examines intrinsic capacity, frailty, sarcopenia, and cognitive health, exploring how biological and lifestyle factors influence ageing outcomes. He develops digital health tools and multidomain programmes to help older adults stay active and age well. Dr Chew received formal research training through the Master of Clinical Investigation (MCI) programme and has been awarded research fellowships including the NMRC Research Training Fellowship and the NHG–LKCMedicine Clinician-Scientist Fellowship. He is involved in teaching and research supervision for medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
