Biodata

Dr Chew Chee Kian is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Endocrinology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He completed his Advanced Specialist Training in Endocrinology in 2013 and was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan Scholarship, which enabled him to pursue advanced training in calcium and bone metabolism disorders at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA, from 2016 to 2018.

Upon returning to Singapore, Dr Chew established a dedicated calcium and bone metabolism clinic at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and helped to develop patient care in this specialised field. He currently also serves as a specialist advisor for calcium and bone metabolism disorders at NHG Health Polyclinic and the Institute of Mental Health.

Dr Chew is a Certified Clinical Densitometrist accredited by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry. He also contributes to national healthcare guidelines as a member of the ACE Clinical Guidance Expert Group under the Ministry of Health, where he played a key role in developing the 2025 guidelines on "Osteoporosis: diagnosis and management."

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Chew also has strong interest in medical education and mentorship. He serves as a clinical tutor at both the NTU-Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. His dedication to teaching was recognised with the NHG Health Teaching Award in 2024. His research interests focus on calcium and bone metabolism, and he was honoured with the Young Investigator Travel Grant Award from the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research Annual Meeting in 2017.
