Asst Prof Cheong is a Family Physician, Senior Consultant in the Department of Continuing and Community Care. He has been a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians, Singapore since 2003. His interests lie in the care of patients in the intermediate and long-term care setting.

Asst Prof Cheong is also involved in the postgraduate training and teaching of Family Medicine and Graduate Diploma of Geriatric Medicine. He is a core faculty member of the NHG Family Medicine Residency Program.
