Biodata

Dr Chen Kok Pun is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), Singapore. With over a decade of experience in the field, he specialises in luminal endoscopic procedures and advanced endoscopy, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Common gastrointestinal conditions that he manages include abdominal pain and bloating, reflux, change in bowel habits, viral hepatitis and liver test abnormalities amongst others. He also performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Chen completed his medical degree at the National University of Singapore and obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2016. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore and holds multiple professional memberships, including the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), where he serves as Vice Chair, Southeast Asia, on the International Committee.

His clinical expertise is complemented by a strong interest in clinical informatics as the Assistant Chief Clinical Informatics Officer for TTSH, medical technology innovation, artificial intelligence and sustainable healthcare. Dr Chen is a Singapore Biodesign Innovation Fellow (2020) and an Open Government Products (OGP) HealthTech Fellow (2023). He is also an Epic Certified Physician Builder with Analytics certification and a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Certificate Issuer.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Chen is actively involved in medical education. He serves as a Clinical Teacher and Adjunct Faculty at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and as a Clinical Lecturer and Examiner at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is also an educator at the NHG Health Centre for Medical Technologies and Innovations (CMTi).

Dr Chen has contributed to several research publications and presentations in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. He has been involved in clinical trials and has received grants for innovative projects in gastrointestinal care.

As a member of various hospital committees, including the Clinical Innovation Committee and the Multidisciplinary Workgroup on Healthcare Sustainability at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Dr Chen is committed to improving patient care and advancing medical practice.

Dr Chen is fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), and Malay, enabling him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
