Biodata

Asst Prof Caroline Siew is a Senior Consultant with the Department of General Surgery in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She is a Colorectal Surgeon with special interest in Peritoneal Surface Malignancies and Soft Tissue Sarcomas.

Asst Prof Siew graduated from the National University of Singapore and completed her General Surgery training with the then National Healthcare Group Residency Program. She obtained her Specialist Accreditation in General Surgery in 2017 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She completed Clinical Fellowships at the National Cancer Centre in Singapore and the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam. These Surgical Oncology fellowships developed her experience in peritoneal surface malignancies and soft tissue sarcomas. Apart from general surgery and minimally invasive colorectal surgeries, her clinical interest is in cytoreductive surgeries with heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS HIPEC) for peritoneal surface malignancies of gastrointestinal and ovarian origin. She also performs resections for soft tissue sarcomas of the trunk, abdomen and retroperitoneum.

Asst Prof Siew is actively involved in medical education. She has contributed to the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University since its inception in 2013 and is currently an Assistant Professor and the Principal Lead for Year 3 Surgery. She is also Clinical Senior Lecturer and Examiner with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. She serves as Clinical Core Faculty Member for the NGH Health General Surgery Residency Program and contributes to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Advanced Peri-operative Nursing Program.
