Dr Benjamin Lee is a Family Physician at NHG Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic. He graduated from the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU-Imperial) in 2018 and subsequently obtained his Master of Medicine in Family Medicine (M.Med FM) and Collegiate Membership of the College of Family Physicians Singapore (MCFPS) in 2023. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health (GDMH) and is currently undergoing the Family Medicine Fellowship (FCFPS), reflecting his continued commitment to clinical excellence and professional development.
Dr Lee’s clinical interests include chronic disease management, mental health, dermatology, minor procedures, and integrated team-based care. He serves as a Health and Mind Clinic Champion and Dermatology Champion within NHG Polyclinics, working closely with colleagues to ensure high standards in care delivery and clinical continuity. He is also a Designated Workplace Doctor for Compressed Air Works and a Certified Physician Builder and Trainer for Epic Systems, contributing to digital health optimisation in primary care.
Dr Lee has a strong professional interest in clinical ethics, medical law, and medicolegal practice. He is Teaching Faculty at the Singapore Medical Association Centre for Medical Ethics and Professionalism (CMEP), where he trains doctors on legal and ethical responsibilities in clinical care. He serves on the Professionalism, Ethics, and Leadership (PEL) Committees of both the College of Family Physicians and NHG Polyclinics, contributing to curriculum development and policy guidance. He underwent formal training as a Medical Expert Witness under the joint SMA–CFPS–SAL programme and regularly engages in ethical case analysis and medicolegal report writing.
He is also deeply involved in medical education. Dr Lee is faculty for the GDFM and M.Med (FM) programs under the College of Family Physicians and NHG Family Medicine Residency. He teaches undergraduate students as a Clinical Teacher and Content Expert at NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, guiding students from Year 3 to 5 through clinical teaching and the Student Assistantship Programme (SAP). His passion for professional development is reflected in his work in curriculum design and faculty mentorship.
In his leadership roles, Dr Lee serves as Teamlet Leader and Key Trainer at NHG Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic. He oversees multidisciplinary care delivery and leads continuing medical education (CME) efforts for doctors. His contributions to care improvement and staff development have earned him several institutional awards, including the NHG Most Valuable Player Award and NHG Polyclinics iCare Champion Star Award.
Dr Lee is actively involved in research and innovation. He received the NHG-LKC Clinician Scientist Preparatory Programme Award and currently serves as Principal Investigator of the EPIC Study on interdepartmental collaboration and Co-Investigator of the PACT Study on patient activation in diabetes care.
Outside of institutional roles, Dr Lee runs his own Family Physician clinic, delivering community-based care grounded in the values of diligence, humility, integrity, and accountability. He enjoys engaging with like-minded professionals and exploring collaborative opportunities to advance Family Medicine in Singapore and beyond.
