Dr Ting Joe Li Yah is a Family Physician, Associate Consultant at NHG Geylang Polyclinic. He graduated from Imperial College London with a BSc with honours, then completed his MBBS degree in 2017 at King’s College London (Graduate Entry), and subsequently completed postgraduate training obtaining a MMed (Family Medicine) in 2021. He is accredited by the Family Physician Registry Accreditation Board as a Family Physician.
With a strong commitment to patient care, he has developed a keen interest in Mental Health and strives to enhance patient care in this field. A significant contribution to the field has been his involvement in contributing to the Clinical Practice Guides focusing on Mental Health in Children and Adolescents, providing essential guidance for healthcare practitioners. He also oversees adolescent mental health (ALERT) and at-risk post-partum mothers’ mental health cases (EMBRACE).
Beyond clinical practice, Dr Ting is a passionate educator and mentor. He contributes to medical education by serving as the Core Clinical Faculty Member of the NHG Health Family Medicine Residency Programme. He provides comprehensive guidance to residents in delivering patient care, emphasising evidence-based clinical management and decision-making. He leads didactic training sessions and contributes to educational resource development across various platforms in family medicine. His work includes creating comprehensive teaching and learning materials for the Didactics sessions. He also serves as both Clinical Teacher and Clinical Practice Facilitator at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, as well as Clinical Tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
In the area of leadership, Dr Ting has taken on key administrative role. He was previously appointed to the team of Key Trainers of the NHG Polyclinics, where he oversees the induction of new doctors and conducts their training programmes. He also organizes and facilitates Continuous Medical Education teaching sessions and medical forums. In view of his professionalism and leadership capabilities, Dr Ting was nominated to join the Singapore Chief Residency Program in 2025.
Recognising his outstanding contributions to public healthcare, Dr Ting has received accolades such as the Most Outstanding Resident Award in 2021, iCare Champion Star Award in 2023 and 5-years Long Service Award in 2024. These recognitions reflect his dedication to advancing medical excellence and improving patient outcomes.
