Dr Amelia Binte Ahmad Hatib is a Family Physician, Associate Consultant at NHG Toa Payoh Polyclinic. She graduated from the University of Adelaide (Australia) with an MBBS degree in 2014. She completed residency training with NHG Family Medicine and received her Master of Medicine in Family Medicine from NUS in 2019. Subsequently, she completed the Advanced Specialty Training programme in Family Medicine and was conferred as Fellow of the College of Family Physicians Singapore (FCFPS) in 2024.
With a strong commitment to patient care, she developed a keen interest in primary care Cardiology and metabolic health. She is 2nd in-charge of the NHG Polyclinics Cardiology Specialty Advisory Group and is actively involved in crafting of NHG Polyclinics clinical guidelines. She is also involved in NHG Polyclinics Cardiology programmes such as Tele-ECG and Tele-AF (atrial fibrillation). In 2025, Dr Amelia published her research on the impact of the family environment on physical activity behaviour of patients with diabetes.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr Amelia has a keen interest in clinical education. She is a passionate educator and mentor. She serves as Core Faculty in the NHG Family Medicine Residency programme and contributes actively to training future family physicians. She is also involved in undergraduate teaching as Clinical Teacher for LKC School of Medicine and Clinical Tutor for NUS YLL School of Medicine.
Dr Amelia was awarded the NHG Polyclinics Junior Doctor Teaching Award in 2021 and the NHG Polyclinics Teaching Recognition Award in 2022. These recognitions reflect her dedication to education and mentoring of future family physicians.
