Dr Sze Kai Ping is the Deputy Head at NHG Khatib Polyclinic. He graduated from National University of Singapore with an MBBS in 2013, subsequently attaining his Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine in 2018 and Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) in 2021. He was conferred the Collegiate Membership (MCFPS) in 2022 and Fellowship of the College of Family Physicians Singapore (FCFPS) in 2023.
As part of his professional development, Dr Sze was awarded the 2022 NHG-LKC Medicine Clinician-Scientist Preparatory Programme (CSPP) Award and 2025 Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Award for advanced training in community heart failure and cardio-oncology care at Brompton & Harefields Hospital, London. He has established expertise in cardiology and eldercare, with particular focus in cardio-oncology, heart failure, chronic venous insufficiency and deep vein thrombosis. He is also actively involved in innovative healthcare initiatives such as the ENRICH Social Prescribing Programme and the SAFE Falls, Frailty and Osteoporosis Prevention Pilot Programme for elderly care.
As a distinguished expert in Family Medicine, Dr Sze serves on the Academic Board of the College of Family Physicians Singapore and holds the position of Associate Programme Director for the Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) College programme. He serves as Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore's Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Content Expert for Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. His educational contributions extend to facilitating Clinical Practice Improvement Projects (CPIP), mentoring junior Family Physicians and Fellowship research trainees, and tutoring undergraduate medical students during their Family Medicine Rotations. He also serves as a Family Medicine Residency faculty member and clinical examiner in undergraduate examinations.
In his leadership capacity as Deputy Head at NHG Khatib Polyclinic, Dr Sze drives key initiatives including the Healthier SG implementation and champions multiple specialty programmes in cardiology, dermatology, and gastroenterology. He currently co-chairs both the NHG Polyclinics GDFM Mock Examination Committee and the Combined Interprofessional Education Committee.
In recognition of his contributions to public healthcare, Dr Sze has received numerous accolades, including the Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress 2024 Singapore Primary Care Bronze Award, CFPS-Starry Night Foundation Innovation Silver Award 2024, NHG Polyclinics OurCare Quality Improvement Champion Award 2023 and multiple NHG Polyclinics OurCare Excellence Awards.
