Biodata

Dr Gan Wei Chun is a Family Physician, Associate Consultant at NHG Toa Payoh Polyclinic. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malaya (Malaysia) in 2013. He completed his residency training with the National Healthcare Group Family Medicine Residency Programme and obtained his Master of Medicine in Family Medicine from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2019. With a strong commitment to patient care, Dr Gan has developed a keen interest in acute and emergency care within the primary care setting. He is a member of the Emergency Specialty Advisory Group and plays an active role in developing NHG Polyclinics emergency clinical guidelines. In addition, he is trained in community psychiatry and runs the ‘Health and Mind’ clinic at NHG Toa Payoh Polyclinic. Beyond clinical practice, Dr Gan is deeply involved in clinical administration and education. He contributes to the NHG Polyclinics Frailty Project, which focuses on frailty prevention in elderly patients seen in polyclinics.

A passionate educator and mentor, Dr Gan actively guides fellow colleagues in the NHG Family Medicine Residency Programme and contributes to the training of future family physicians. He is also involved in undergraduate medical education, serving as a Clinical Teacher at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and a Clinical Lecturer at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the ‘Excellence in Action Award’ during NHG Polyclinics Quality Day 2024 and ‘NUS Medicine Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence’ for the Academic Year 2023/2024 (NHG).
