Biodata
Dr Ong Kah Pieng is the Deputy Head of NHG Kallang Polyclinic and a Family Physician, Consultant at NHG Kallang Polyclinic. Dr Ong graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D) in 2012. He subsequently completed postgraduate training in Family Medicine and is accredited by the Family Physicians Accreditation Board, Singapore as a Family Physician.
With regards to his expertise in Family Medicine, Dr Ong is recognised as a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians Singapore and contributes actively to clinical and educational works in Family Medicine. Dr Ong’s clinical practice is deeply rooted in evidence-based medicine for acute, chronic and preventive care. He currently holds multiple academic appointments, including MCQ Writer for the Family Medicine Applied Knowledge Test at the National University of Singapore, Clinical Teacher, Content Expert and Clinical Practice Facilitator at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and Physician Faculty with NHG Residency.
He previously served as a Patient Safety Advocate, iCARE Ambassador, and currently a member of the team supporting and advocating for the Patient Advisory Council at NHG Kallang Polyclinic. He has been recognised with various awards, including the iCARE Champion Star Award (2024), Pingat Kepujian COVID-19 Medal (2023), Resilience Medal COVID-19 (2023), NHG Team Recognition Award - GOLD (2021) and NHG Healthcare Innovation Award (2020). His academic contributions include co-authoring a publication on home-based HbA1c testing published in BMC Primary Care (2024).
