Biodata
Dr Ng Xin Rong is a Family Physician, Associate Consultant at NHG Toa Payoh Polyclinic. He graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, with an MBBS degree in 2012 and subsequently completed postgraduate training in Family Medicine in 2023.
Dr Ng is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians Singapore (FCFPS) and a member of the Asia-Pacific Academic Primary Care Group. He has a strong clinical focus on dementia and cancer screening, and he is part of the Eye/Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Specialty Advisory Group (SAG) within NHG Polyclinics.
Beyond clinical care, Dr Ng is actively involved in medical education. He serves as a clinical teacher at both the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is also a faculty member of the College of Family Physicians Singapore, where he contributes to the Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) programme and serves as a faculty member of the Ethics Faculty.
Dr Ng has taken on leadership roles, including Deputy Lead of the ENT SAG at NHG Polyclinics and Lead of the Diagnostic Memory Clinic at NHG Toa Payoh Polyclinic, where he played a key role in setting up the Memory Clinic to enhance early dementia diagnosis and care.
Dr Ng is also actively engaged in research aimed at enhancing cancer screening uptake in primary care. His work includes evaluating self-sampling strategies for cervical cancer screening, as well as examining the influence of national health initiatives such as Healthier SG on preventive cancer screening behaviours.
In recognition of his contributions, Dr Ng has received several awards, including the NHG Teaching Award for Junior Doctors (2022) and First Prize at the Singapore Primary Care Research Award (Poster, 2022). He was also selected for the NHG-LKCMedicine Clinician Scientist Preparatory Programme in 2023 and the LKCMedicine Family Medicine Clinician Scientist Development Programme in 2025.
