Biodata

Dr Ian Koh Jan Ming is a Family Physician, Consultant at NHG Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic. He graduated from the University of Manchester with an MB ChB degree in 2009. He obtained his Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) in 2017 and was conferred as a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians, Singapore in 2024.

To further enhance his expertise, Dr Koh led a multidisciplinary team from NHG Health that was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) to study Remission of Type 2 Diabetes from renowned experts in the field including Professor Michael Lean and Professor Naveed Sattar in the United Kingdom.

As a distinguished expert, Dr Koh was appointed a member of the Expert Group for the Agency for Care Effectiveness’ Appropriate Care Guide (ACG) for Lipid Management, published in 2023.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr Koh is a passionate educator and mentor. He serves as a Lecturer at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and contributes actively to training future medical professionals. He also holds the role of Assistant Director at the Primary Care Academy, NHG Polyclinics focusing on the training of post-graduates, especially in communication skills. He was awarded the NHG Teaching Award for Senior Doctors in 2022 in recognition of his contributions in education.

In the area of leadership, Dr Koh is currently the Head of NHG Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic.

Dr Koh had received several awards for his research, including Gold for the Singapore Health and Biomedical Congress (SHBC) Primary Care Research Poster Presentation in the years 2016, 2017 and 2024. In 2019, he was a member of the NHG team that received the NHG Research Award for Outstanding Research Impact for their work in Familial Hypercholesterolaemia.
