Asst Prof Valerie Teo Hui Ying is a Family Physician, Senior Consultant and Head of NHG Kallang Polyclinic. She obtained her M.B.B.S from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2009 and her Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) in 2013 (Gold Medal). She is also currently a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians FCFP(S) and is accredited by the Family Physician Accreditation Board as a Family Physician.

Asst Prof Teo has taken on several appointments including being the chairperson of the Medication Management and Usage Committee since 2016, driving medication safety, antibiotic stewardship and evidence-based prescribing in Primary Care and a member of the National Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Asst Prof Teo is also passionate in Health-Social Integration and has led efforts to improve accessibility of care and integration with the community.

She is also actively involved in innovation and healthcare transformation, leading several innovation projections and workgroups. Asst Prof Teo is the current Clinical Lead for the Centre of Innovation@Population Health (CHI@PH) and a member of the NHG Centre for Medical Technologies & Innovations (CMTi).

Asst Prof Teo is also an avid educator and is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and the Lead for the Year 2 OSCEs. She is actively involved in post graduate training for Family Medicine and assists in training for the Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) as well as the Fellowship Program by the College of Family Physicians.
