Biodata

Dr Christopher Chong is a Family Physician, Senior Consultant at NHG Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic. He graduated from King’s College London (UK) with an MBBS degree in 2006 and subsequently completed postgraduate training in Family Medicine in 2019.

To further enhance his capability, Dr Chong was awarded the HMDP scholarship for leadership which allowed him to complete the Executive Development Programme at The Wharton School in the University of Pennsylvania. With a strong commitment to improving care delivery in primary care, he has developed a keen interest in working with general practitioners and community partners with the aim to improve collaboration and standard of care.

As a distinguished expert, Dr Chong is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians Singapore. He is currently a member of the MOH-AIC Primary Care Network Council and the co-chair of the MOH Healthier SG Care Protocols Workgroup.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr Chong is a passionate educator and mentor. He serves as Clinical Senior Lecturer at National University of Singapore and Clinical Supervisor at the College of Family Physicians FCFP programme, contributing actively to training future medical professionals. He is also a member of the Singapore Primary Care Research and Knowledge (SPARK) Advisory Board at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU.

In the area of leadership, Dr Chong has taken on key administrative roles. He served as Clinic Head at NHG Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic and the chairperson of the NHG Polyclinics Prevention and Control of Infection Committee. Currently, he serves as Director of Primary Care Office at NHG Population Health and is also the admin lead for Central North Primary Care Network, focusing on supporting GPs in the NHG Health region and improving the collaboration between various healthcare stakeholders.

Recognising his outstanding contributions to public healthcare, Dr Chong has received The Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2023.
