Dr Rufus Daniel is a Family Physician at NHG Yishun Polyclinic. He graduated from Armed Forces Medical College, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India, with an MBBS degree in 1995. He subsequently completed his Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine from the National University of Singapore in 2011 and obtained his Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) in 2013.

Dr Daniel has interests in chronic disease management, primary care cardiology and quality improvement. His latest role as a Master Change Leader, NHG Group Quality allows him opportunities to facilitate change initiatives with increased acceptance and accountability at the institution and cluster level.

Dr Daniel was awarded the Healthcare Humanity Award in both 2012 and 2023, the COVID-19 Warrior Award in 2020, and the Health Manpower Development Plan in 2019. His service during the COVID-19 pandemic was acknowledged with the 'Pingat Kepujian' at the National Awards (COVID-19) in 2023.

Dr Daniel can speak English, Hindi and Tamil and spends most of his week doing what he likes best – providing teamlet-based care to patients from the heartland.
