Biodata
Adjunct Associate Professor Timothy Teo is a fellowship-trained surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery, as well as arthroscopic and sports surgery of the hip and knee. He has been serving as the Head of Department, Orthopaedic Surgery at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) since 2020. He has a special interest in sports and arthroscopic surgery, specialising in joint preservation procedures of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow, which include ligament, meniscus, cartilage surgery, osteotomy, rotator cuff and instability surgery. He is also proficient in shoulder and elbow trauma surgery and arthroplasty.
His research work is well-published in numerous international peer-reviewed journals, and he serves as an invited faculty member at multiple local and international conferences and courses. He has shared his expertise on the global stage, serving as the official tournament doctor for prestigious international tournaments including the WTA (Women's Tennis Association) Finals for two consecutive years.
He serves on the Orthopaedic Residency Advisory Committee of Singapore and is a proctor on the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) exam committee, serving as an examiner for both undergraduate and postgraduate examinations. He is also a core faculty member of both the NHG Health Orthopaedic and Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY1) Residency. He served as Associate Programme Director of the National PGY1 Programme. A passionate teacher, he commits time at both the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University School of Medicine. His contributions have earned him multiple teaching awards from NUS, NHG and KTPH, including the NUS Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence. He recently received the National Awards Commendation Medal for his contributions to the COVID-19 fight in 2023.
