Biodata

Dr Tay Yi Hang graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS). She was accepted into the National Psychiatry Residency Programme in 2015 and obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) from the United Kingdom in 2017. She has experience in consultation-liaison psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and addictions psychiatry through her rotations at various healthcare institutions during her residency years.

She was awarded the NHG Health Covid-19 Most Valuable Player Team Award in recognition of her efforts in running the emergency psychiatry service during the Covid-19 pandemic.

After joining Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) as a Psychiatrist in 2022, Dr Tay spearheaded the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) service and currently leads a team of dedicated staff to deliver TMS daily to patients.

She supervises specialist trainees in Psychiatry residency and family medicine specialists in polyclinics. Outside of clinical work, she pursues her passion in education and is currently appointed as the Undergraduate Lead for Psychological Medicine for the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.

She has been actively involved in mental health research and has contributed to mental health education and advocacy as an invited speaker at various hospital forums, as a plenary member at international meetings and through media interviews. She believes that a healthy body cannot function without a healthy mind and continues to stay up-to-date with developments in the field of psychiatry to deliver evidence-based and holistic care.
