Dr Tan Wye Lynn graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2009, where she was awarded the Q&M Medal for Operative Dentistry and placed on the Dean's List. She served her bond at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) between 2009 and 2012 in Advanced General Dentistry, followed by a community posting at NHG Health Polyclinic.

She was conferred her Master of Periodontics (MDS) from the National University of Singapore in 2015 and was awarded the International Association for Dental Research prize for best student in periodontology in the same year. She has been a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh since then. She was accredited as a Specialist in Periodontics under the Dental Specialist Accreditation Board from 2019 onwards.

Dr Tan has been practising periodontics since 2015 and is currently a Consultant at KTPH.​
