Biodata

Dr Su Su graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Institute of Medicine, Mandalay, Myanmar, in 1997. In 2007, she moved to Singapore to further her career. She obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2012 and has been with the Department of Geriatric Medicine at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital since then, completing her specialist training and receiving accreditation as a Geriatrician in 2016. In 2020, she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.

Dr Su Su specialises in fall prevention and orthogeriatric care, with a particular focus on perioperative care for acute hip fractures. Her work ensures patients transition smoothly from surgery to recovery and back into the community, with an emphasis on preventing future falls and fractures. She also provides comprehensive care for acutely ill elderly patients, addressing complex medical needs with a holistic approach.

In addition to her clinical duties, Dr Su Su is an active faculty member at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, where she is dedicated to teaching medical students, residents and nursing students. She has contributed significantly to patient safety, chairing the hospital's Fall Prevention Workgroup and serving on the Patient Safety Committee. Her research interests focus on falls, balance and hip fractures in the elderly.
