Biodata

Dr Shahira Abdullah graduated from the National University of Singapore(NUS) in 2011 with a Bachelor of Dental surgery. She later obtained a Masters of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics from NUS in 2016. She is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, a Registered Dental Specialist in Orthodontics with the Singapore Dental Council, a Member of the Association of Orthodontist (Singapore) and the World Federation of Orthodontists

Dr Shahira is currently a Consultant Orthodontist at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Her experience in Orthodontics include interceptive orthodontic treatment and growth modification for young children, and comprehensive treatment using traditional and self-ligating metal and ceramic braces as well as Invisalign. She is also well-versed in the use of mini-screws or temporary anchorage devices(TADs) to manage complex cases as well as managing interdisciplinary cases such as patients with dentofacial deformities requiring jaw surgery.

Her special interest is in integrating a digital workflow in orthodontics to improve patient care. She is fluent in English and Malay.

Outside of work, Dr Shahira is active in community service and is a board member of the National Youth Council. She was a former Vice President of Mendaki Club and a former Nominated Member of Parliament.
