Biodata

A/Prof Ng Chong Jin is the Head and Clinical Director of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He is a Singapore Specialist Accreditation Board certified specialist in Geriatric Medicine. Following his postgraduate training, he was awarded the MOH HMDP scholarship, through which he completed a Fellowship at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, University of British Columbia Hospital, Canada.

He is a Senior Consultant Geriatrician who specialises in dementia care. He has a special interest in early cognitive impairment and advance care planning. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh).

An avid educator, he serves as a Core Faculty Member of the NHG Geriatric Medicine Senior Residency Programme, Geriatric Medicine Residency Advisory Committee of Singapore, National Advanced Practice Nurse Committee and NHG Residency Grievance Review Committee. He is also an examiner for both undergraduate and postgraduate examinations. He has won many accolades, including the NHG Teaching Award for Senior Doctors, Interprofessional Teaching Award, Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine Role Model Award.

He co-authors research papers in local and international medical journals and appraises peer-reviewed journals and Alexandra Health Enabling Grants. He has presented at local, regional and international research conferences. His passion for clinical quality improvement and research has led him to receive the NHG Team Recognition Award, Excellence in Action Award and NHG Research Impact Award.
