Biodata

Dr Lee Jingwen is a Consultant General Surgeon with expertise in acute care (emergency) surgery, trauma surgery, and hernia surgery. She graduated from the University of Aberdeen School of Medicine in 2013 and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2015. In 2019, she earned her postgraduate Master of Medicine (Surgery) degree and followed it up with the completion of surgery training with the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2020. Dr Lee entered the Registry of Specialists in Singapore in 2021.

During her training, Dr Lee received several awards and scholarships, including the Jacob Ballas Scholar's Award, Oscar Reginald Lewis Wilson Bequest, Wong Choon Hee Bursary, and Golden Scalpel Award.

As a General Surgeon with a keen interest in emergency surgery, trauma surgery, and hernia surgery, Dr Lee handles complex cases of patients who are critically ill or who have suffered accidents. She also treats complicated hernias, including those of patients with large hernias, multiple hernias due to prior surgery, or recurrent hernias after prior surgery. Dr Lee is also an experienced and skilled endoscopist and surgeon who advocates minimally invasive surgery, ambulatory care surgery, and enhanced recovery after surgery.

Dr Lee is passionate about mentoring future generations of surgeons. She is a member of the NHG Health (NHG) Clinical Core Faculty for Post-Graduate Year 1s, NHG General Surgery Residency Programme Faculty, and Clinical Lecturer for Yong Loo Lin and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She is an enthusiastic trainer for General Surgery residents and faculty for numerous surgical workshops. Additionally, she serves as an examiner for both the National University of Singapore and the Nanyang Technological University medical schools.

Dr Lee is a member of the Asia-Pacific Hernia Society and has presented at various local and international conferences, including the British Hernia Society Meeting, Asia-Pacific Hernia Society Conference, Singapore Trauma and Acute Care Conference, Australasian Trauma Society Meeting, World Congress of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and VEITH Conference.

Dr Lee has a particular interest in developing hospital systems and holds multiple positions at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. She is currently on the Committee for the Intensive Care Unit, Direct Access Endoscopy & Surgery Scheme, and Admiralty Medical Centre.
