Dr Chan is an Associate Consultant specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery as well as arthroscopic and sports surgery of the hip and knee. He has a special interest in sports and arthroscopic surgery, specialising in joint preservation procedures of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow, which include ligament, meniscus, cartilage surgery, osteotomy, rotator cuff and instability surgery. He is also proficient in shoulder and elbow trauma surgery and arthroplasty.

Dr Chan also has special interest in research, with his research work being presented in multiple local and international conferences, as well as published in peer-reviewed journals. He is also heavily involved in undergraduate medical education at both NUS and NTU School of Medicine.

Dr Chan was also the NHG Chief Resident for Orthopaedic Surgery in 2022 to 2023 as well as Core Committee Member of NHG Health Resident Council in 2023. He also received Most Outstanding Resident Awards in 2020, 2023 and 2024.
