Dr Ramaswamy has been practising Clinical Medicine for over 40 years. Having specialised in Radiotherapy and Palliative Medicine, he has been treating and managing cancer patients, including those with advanced metastatic disease. He also treats patients with end-stage organ failure both in acute hospital settings and in the community at patients' homes.

Driven by his desire to provide home hospice care, Dr Ramaswamy served as Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of Singapore's largest home hospice service for 15 years. He was the Chairman of the Singapore Hospice Council for two consecutive terms.

His passion for volunteering and training fellow doctors, nurses, allied healthcare workers and volunteers in Palliative Medicine has led him to conduct multiple training programmes in Indonesia and Myanmar for more than a decade. The passion to do more for his patients and caregivers continues to propel him to seek daily opportunities that can be turned into meaningful outcomes for everyone involved in his work.
