Appropriate and Value-Based Care
Our doctors and healthcare staff prioritise your health and well-being. In making care decisions, we consider evidence of what works and what matters to you. In this care journey, we work with you to achieve meaningful outcomes, ensuring that you receive the right care, at the right time and place.
What Value Means In Healthcare
Singapore’s healthcare system has improved patient outcomes while making use of the best available resources.
In 2017, the Ministry of Health introduced the National Value-Driven Care programme to better understand clinical variations across public hospitals. These early efforts shaped today’s practices in delivering appropriate and value-based care, or AVBC. Standardised and transparent benchmarking of clinical quality and costs continue to encourage discourse on best practices among care professionals, address unwarranted variations and drive improvements.
How NHG Health Creates Value
Better outcomes begin with better ways of caring.
Through continuous improvement and innovation, we focus on improving outcomes, enhancing care experiences and ensuring healthcare remains sustainable.
“I returned home the day after my surgery. Since then, I've lost 30kg and I no longer need diabetes medication.” Mr Sivakumaren
Listening With Purpose
Your care should reflect how you are doing, not just what the tests and scans show.
What matters to you in your daily life matters to us too. Through Patient Reported Outcome Measures, or PROMs, you can share how you are feeling, functioning and coping with your condition. These insights help your care team better understand your needs, support shared decision-making and deliver care that focuses on outcomes that matter most to you.
