32 Revolutionary Projects, 23 Industry Partners, 1 Bold Mission – Adding 15 Million Years of Healthy Life
Under the transformative theme “Adding 15 Million Years of Healthy Life” of the Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress 2024, our innovation space, spanning an impressive 144 m², buzzed with excitement as over 2,000 international and local participants discovered how we’re transforming healthcare with innovation. Thanks to the support of our partners like National Health Innovation Centre, SGDiagnostics, CoNEX Healthcare, Mitsui Chemicals, Singapore Biodesign and Medtech Catapult, we brought together 32 groundbreaking projects that showcase the power of collaboration between NHG clinicians and 23 industry partners.
During Minister Ong Ye Kung’s visit to our space, we presented several transformative innovations and efforts.
Our C-AIM centre, a powerhouse collaboration with NTU LKC Medicine, brings together clinicians, data scientists, engineers, educators, and implementation scientists to revolutionise patient care through AI technologies. This multidisciplinary approach ensures we’re not only developing innovative solutions but also preparing our healthcare workforce for a technology-driven future.
Building on this AI foundation, we’re enhancing our primary care capabilities through PRIME CXR, our collaboration with Lunit is redesigning clinical workflows with AI-powered chest X-ray analysis into NHG polyclinics. Starting with Geylang Polyclinic, this system will improve reporting efficiency and enable faster diagnosis by prioritising cases with significant abnormalities.
Our commitment to early detection and prevention can also be seen through SkAI, our innovative mobile application for skin cancer screening. Available in both professional and community versions, SkAI empowers healthcare providers and individuals with rapid risk assessment capabilities, contributing to better survival rates through early detection.
We’re transforming diabetes care through our partnership with SG diagnostics and other healthcare institutions. Our portable HbA1c monitoring solution delivers results in just six minutes, enabling immediate treatment adjustments and better diabetes management, particularly beneficial for community care teams conducting home visits.
Another key feature was our Smart Ward where we featured PreSAGE, our smart bed-exit prediction system co-developed with CoNEX Healthcare. This AI-powered thermal sensing technology provides continuous, automated surveillance of patient movements, significantly reducing fall risks. The system’s success has led to its implementation across Singapore’s healthcare institutions and expansion into regional markets like Thailand.
We’re also revolutionising stroke rehabilitation through 3DGait, an innovative collaboration between TTSH rehabilitation physicians and CareCam. This AI-powered mobile application transforms traditional gait analysis, eliminating the need for specialised labs and complex infrastructure. Using just an iPad Pro, clinicians can now capture comprehensive gait measurements anywhere, making rehabilitation more accessible and convenient.
Through these innovations and partnerships, we’re building a future where healthcare is more accessible, efficient and effective. Each project advances our ambitious goal of adding 15 million years of healthy life to our community, showing how collaboration and innovation can create pathways to longer, healthier lives for the people we serve.
