TTSH Orthopaedic Surgery
The Orthopaedic Surgery department provides a wide range of specialty services, including adult reconstruction, all conditions involving the foot and ankle, limb lengthening & reconstruction, surgical treatment of orthopaedic tumours, spine service, management of multiple traumas, and sports injuries of the upper and lower limbs.
The TTSH Orthopaedic Surgery Department is made up of 7 services.
- The Adult Reconstruction Surgery service treats joints pain due to hip and knee arthritis.
- The Foot and Ankle service provides holistic treatment for:
- Injury to the foot and ankle such as ankle sprains
- Degenerative conditions and deformities of the foot and ankle such as flat feet
- Heel pain such as plantar fasciitis
- Toe deformities such as bunions
- The Limb Lengthening & Reconstruction Surgery service provides advanced surgical techniques to treat significant limb length differences and limb deformities.
- The Musculoskeletal Oncology Surgery provides treatment for benign and malignant soft tissue and bony tumours:
- Bone and soft tissue sarcoma
- Quality of life preserving treatment for metastatic bone disease
- Limb preservation surgery
- Prosthetic and biological reconstruction techniques
- Pelvic and sacral tumours
- The Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery service manages multiply injured patients as well as a high volume of geriatric trauma patients, performing:
- Hip fracture surgery
- Complex peri-articular fracture fixation
- Pelvic & acetabular surgery
- Post-traumatic deformative reconstruction
- Complex revision fixation surgery (Non-union, critical bone defects, fracture-related infections, peri-implant fractures)
- The Spine Surgery service provides treatment for:
- Spinal deformity and adult scoliosis
- Neck, upper and lower back pain
- Nerve pain such as sciatica and slipped disc
- Spinal tumours
- Spine fractures
- The Sports Medicine & Surgery service provides care on:
- All sports related conditions of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, foot and ankle
- Common degenerative conditions of the shoulder and elbow such as rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulders, tennis & golfer’s elbows
- Non-invasive and invasive interventions for the above problems
- Open and keyhole surgeries of the shoulder elbow, hip and knee joints
