Clinical A/Prof Vernon Yong is a Senior Consultant and Clinical Director of NHG Eye Institute. He underwent a one-year fellowship at the Lions Eye Institute in Perth, Australia. 

A/Prof Yong chose to be a glaucoma specialist as he realized that the population was an ageing one and the numbers of glaucoma patients would steadily increase over the next decade or so.
