Dr Elizabeth Chen is an Associate Consultant at the Department of Ophthalmology, Woodlands Hospital and National Healthcare Group Eye Institute.

Dr Chen practices Ophthalmology with special clinical interests in glaucoma, cataracts, and general ophthalmology.

Dr Chen completed her undergraduate medical training at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2017, where she received the Dean's list award multiple times and was also invited to the Dean's dinner in recognition of her academic achievements.

Subsequently, Dr Chen trained under the ACGME-I (American Council of Graduate Medical Education – International) accredited National Healthcare Group Ophthalmology Residency Program, qualifying as a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (United Kingdom) in 2023 and obtaining her Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) in 2024. In 2025, she became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

Dr Chen has been involved in various leadership and administrative roles. She has served as Chief Resident in 2023, and achieved the Outstanding Senior Resident Award in 2025. She has also been an executive committee member of the Young Ophthalmologist chapter of the Singapore Society of Ophthalmologist (SSO).

Dr Chen is active in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and serves as a Clinical Lecturer at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

She has presented at numerous local and overseas research conferences, published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals, achieving the Singapore Clinical Investigator Award, Bronze Award in 2023 Singapore Health and Biomedical Congress.

Dr Chen is dedicated to providing holistic care to her patients, and has received the TTSH Department of Ophthalmology Healthcare Excellence and Quality Award in 2024. She has also been involved in humanitarian medical missions to underprivileged countries.

Dr Chen speaks English and Mandarin.
