Dr Alvin Soon is an Assistant Professor and Consultant in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology. His clinical practice is centred on Head and Neck Imaging, with a concurrent appointment as a Visiting Consultant at Woodlands Health in Head and Neck Imaging and Neuroradiology. He is actively involved in diagnostic reporting, image-guided procedures, and multidisciplinary care for patients with complex head and neck conditions.

Asst Prof Soon’s areas of clinical practice include advanced cross-sectional imaging of the head and neck, neuroradiology, and minimally invasive image-guided interventions for Head & Neck. He has a special interest in thyroid and parathyroid disease and performs thermal ablation and sclerotherapy procedures as alternatives to surgery for selected patients. His work focuses on delivering precise diagnosis and treatment while minimising procedural risk and recovery time.

Asst Prof Soon completed subspecialty training in Head and Neck Oncological Imaging at Spedali Civili di Brescia, Italy, with emphasis on oncological imaging, post-treatment assessment, and complex disease evaluation. He contributes to service development and clinical education within his department.

In addition to Asst Prof Soon’s clinical role, he is involved in the research and clinical deployment of artificial intelligence in radiological workflows and teaches digital health and precision medicine to medical students at LKCMedicine.

Asst Prof Soon adopts a patient-centred approach to care, emphasising clear communication, shared decision-making, and evidence-based, minimally invasive solutions tailored to individual patient needs.
