About

Adj A/Prof Pua Uei, Senior Consultant and Head of Interventional Radiology (IR) Service at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, NHG Health, Singapore. He graduated in Medicine from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and completed postgraduate training in Diagnostic Radiology. He holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and Master of Medicine (MMed, Diagnostic Radiology), and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).

He received the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship to pursue advanced IR training at the University Health Network and Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto, and a visiting fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

As a thought leader in the field, Adj A/Prof Pua has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and delivered more than 300 invited lectures in over 20 countries. His work focuses on vascular intervention, interventional oncology, and image-guided therapies, pioneered several techniques adopted internationally.

At the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, where he serves as Adjunct Associate Professor (Adj A/Prof), he has received multiple teaching honors, including “Best Teacher,” “Role Model,” and Special Recognition Awards for mentorship and contributions to medical education.

Adj A/Prof Pua has played a leading role in advancing interventional radiology through professional and organizational leadership:

  • Inaugural Chair, Chapter of Interventional Radiologists, College of Radiologists, Academy of Medicine Singapore (2021–2025)
  • President, Singapore Radiological Society (2012–2016)
  • Founding & Board Member, Society of Interventional Oncology (2018–2024)

Renowned for his innovations in vascular and oncologic interventions, Adj A/Prof Pua’s work has been featured in Channel NewsAsia CNA, Mediacorp News, and National newspapers such as The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao and Berita Harian. His professional standing is recognized, and he is accepted as a Fellow in multiple renowned international medical societies:
