Dr Ong Jun Yan is a Consultant in the Department of Geriatric Psychiatry at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Singapore. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Barts and The London, School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London in 2013 and obtained her Psychiatry specialist accreditation in Singapore in 2020. She is also a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, United Kingdom since 2017 and a fellow of the College of Psychiatrists, Academy of Medicine, Singapore since 2025. 

During her training years, she served as the IMH Deputy Assistant Chief Resident and subsequently the Assistant Chief Resident. Dr Ong’s clinical experience includes managing adult and geriatric patients in the inpatient, outpatient (clinic) and community settings. She was the Deputy Programme Director of the Aged Psychiatry Community Assessment and Treatment Service (APCATS) which provides assessments and treatments for homebound or frail elderly with mental health disorders through a multidisciplinary team. She also conducts training through APCATS which empowers community eldercare agencies and primary care practitioners to manage the elderly with mental disorders through training, consultation and support. 

Dr Ong is passionate in guiding and teaching junior doctors and medical students. Dr Ong is the Associate Programme Director for the NHG Health Psychiatry Residency Programme. She is also a Clinical Teacher and Adjunct Lecturer for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and a Clinical Tutor for the National University of Singapore (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She was awarded the NUS Medicine Junior Doctor Teaching Award in 2019/2020.
